What is Reiki?
Reiki roughly translates to universal energy life force, which flows from the practitioner to the recipient.
What is a Reiki session like?
We begin the session by talking about what is going on in your life. This can include ailments, physical pain, stress, emotional distress, etc.
During the treatment, you are fully clothed, relaxing in supported restorative postures or seated. Reiki is offered using a light touch, though it can also be done with the hands hovering over the body. I incorporate aromatherapy, music and restorative yoga techniques for deeper states of relaxation. Once the treatment is complete, we can discuss your experience or you can simply remain still and relaxed.
A Reiki session is different for everyone and with every treatment. You might feel heat, go into a deep meditative state, see colors, or even feel nothing. The most common response is the feeling of peace and relaxation.
